The Days of the 3,000 Mile Oil Change Are on Their Way Out

For generations, the rule of thumb was to do your regular routine oil change every 3,000 miles. This held true for a number of years. But these days, with all of the advances in auto engines and engine oil, the rule of the 3,000-mile oil change is not necessarily true anymore.

The truth is, most modern engines can go more like 5,000-7,500 miles in between oil changes. And with the advances in synthetic oil blends, you can rest easy that this isn't doing additional harm to your vehicle. Chances are, your automobile manufacturer actually recommends this mileage range for your oil changes.

If you are unsure as to what is required for your vehicle's oil changes, you can always check your owner's manual or contact someone in our service department here at Show Low Ford Inc.. They are here to help and are always glad to give their expert recommendations.
